Incubators serve a vital role in the fast-paced digital economy, nurturing and building tomorrow's technology and dot.com companies. But who builds the incubators? The answer, for iCubation/Globeshaker, is Web Zeit.


STRATEGY

Globeshaker intends to be a new kind of incubator-part Fulbright Fellowship, part Idealab. This new model brings process, applicant screening, sourcing and strong executional capacity to the incubator arena. Combining this new incubator concept with a business model that makes the business accessible to a much broader demographic of pre-startup entrepreneurs, the company hopes to find a new breed of e-businesses and help them flourish.

 

IDENTITY

Web Zeit's design team first built a comprehensive visual identity for Globeshaker, which would stand out from the crowd and adapt to print, Web and multimedia. The corporate identity must brand the company graphically, with a distinct look and strong visual appeal.

 

DEVELOPMENT

Pre-launch development included the building of an exciting, technologically sophisticated interim page, basically announcing the incubator with Flash and flair. Next steps include building a robust incubator site that serves as a business platform interacting with potential incubatees, while also building brand awareness, generating media attention and providing access to incubatee sites. The phase I Web site will combine the following features and functionalities:

  • Modular front-end technology
  • Company profile and information
  • Online application for first and second round applicants
  • Communication management and robust email functionality
  • e-Commerce functionality
  • Case studies, links to companies, background information
